Things We've Taken Pictures Of
(or someone else has)
Our second trip to Paris, this time with a side trip to Reims and a lot more goofy shit. Not as much touristy shit. 150 photos here, nonetheless. Lemurcon 2005, Durham, North Carolina. Be forewarned -- those lemurs can do some downright nas-tay things. Dave and Sabrina had a barbecue!. And I took pictures. Very little nudity, though. London in January. More tourist spots (though few pictures, by Order of the Queen). More pub photos and candid shots as a result. Janis and Dave's Wedding in Rome. New York. Hey, it was lots of fun, and we re-enacted classic slasher movies. My friend Leya got married on Cape Cod, in Falmouth. Pretty. I even look good in one picture. It might be the radiant beauty of the bride, though. GowFest 2004, or The Lost Geekend, May 2004. Comprising scenic Fairfax, Virginia, Philadelphia and environs, Baltimore and Washington DC. A good time was had by all that remember what the hell was going on. Holiday party, at Club Deep on West 22nd. It's a good thing we drank for free. It's lovely to have a wife who hangs around equally-photogenic people. Andy comes home, to Spuyten Duyvil, which is a Good Thing. Durham, North Carolina. The Duke University Primate Center, once again host to Lemurcon, 2003 version, October 3-5. This one was officially the ninth, so next year is Lemurcon X. In a continuing effort to look cool around beer types, I played hooky from work to go to Philadelphia and Downingtown with Andy, visiting Monk's and, of course, Victory Brewing. Dude, it's cool to be locked in the brewery with its co-president and founder. Andy's sendoff party at the Brazen Head in Brooklyn the night of August 23. No nudity, though if you look closely you can see... well, I don't want to ruin the surprise. Ron Guidry Day at Yankee Stadium, 23 August 2003. Most of the pictures were taken at 3x optical and 3.6x digital zoom, so let's see how well the Canon Powershot Elph S400 scored. Hmm. (Yanks lost 7-2 to the Orioles.) Andy at Bierkraft. No reason, except that Laura was complaining there are no pictures of her on the Internet. That's not a softball. Lew Bryson, in town hawking his new book on New York Breweries at our sparse July Homebrewers' Guild meeting. It was raining. Kevin and Susan got married June 28, 2003. Aside from the OSU cooling facility not working, all was lovely and wonderful. (These are the first pictures we took for real with the new camera.) London, March 20-27, 2003. It's great to be a tourist and understand the natives a little. Still, a lot of touristy stuff doesn't allow the use of cameras -- some sort of Royal Copyright on things like the Crown Jewels and church-y interiors. Trip report will eventually post., I suppose. Still tired. Real Ale Festival 2003, February 28-March 1 in Chicago. Good lord this was deliriously fun. Blizzardpalooza! Jenny takes pictures of the two feet, more or less, of snow dumped on New York City February 16-17, 2003. Latkepalooza! Join Andy, Laura and the gang as we celebrate the festival of lights, only with Ramstein Classic and a bunch of West Coast strong beer. San Francisco trip pictures from November. Ooh look, a bridge! Lemurcon 2002, our ninth annual (with an exception or two) excursion to the Duke University Primate Center, home of the coolest creatures in the universe and well worth a trip for anyone. Paris, the third through sixth days of the trip, until my memory card filled up. Cathedrale du Notre-Dame, Saint-Chapelle, Versailles, Louvre, pretty pictures all around. Paris, the first two days of the trip. Random photos, panoramic view, L'Arc du Triomphe and Eiffel images, Rodin museum, etc. Pictures from a Baltic Porter tasting at Bierkraft, featuring Lew Bryson. Pictures from the third installment of the Michael Jackson's Masters of Beer Appreciation series. This year we focused on Belgian ales (and yes, a Frog saison and a bier de garde, but what can you do?). Pictures of Jaxon, Mr. and Mrs. Arger, and Lord Brockington at NYC Giggyfest 2002: [ Feb. 15, Sparky's ] [ Feb. 16, Ginger Man, and the Empire State Building ] [ Feb. 17, Bohemian Hall ] Jenny with PJ, a co-star in the series of David Kosh plays January-February 2002, "I Love New York -- What's Your Excuse?" Jenny was of course playing a woman in a bathrobe. Two guys came to the Yankees-Red Sox game September 8, 2001 with a banner that simply read, "DUQUETTE IS THE CURSE" and hung it a few sections over from us. No big deal. About 90 seconds after they hung up this banner over that one, security came over (the guy in light gray in the photo, who had to go down to talk to them). One of the best signs I've ever witnessed at a game. (By the way, the Yankees won, 9-2.) Jenny and Dave, in one of the few pictures where both are smiling and Dave actually looks human. I scrounged this picture up to prove to myself that I can be photogenic. This was at my cousin's wedding in Cleveland in October 2000; I think that marriage is over. Jenny at OpSail 2000, in which we cruised on an old tall ship from South Street Seaport to the Verrazano Bridge around Manhattan, up to the GWB, and back to the Seaport on July 4. Beautiful day, dozens and dozens of amazing ships, all thanks to HotJobs giving a big pile of money to the people in charge of renovating the Wavertree tall ship. Jenny's cast picture from the National Theater for/of the Performing Arts or something like that, taken in Pennsylvania I believe (she isn't here to tell me right now), near the end of the tour. The 800x635 version (79K) The 634x505 version (54K) A picture of Jenny and the costume designer on the set of Endsville, a new movie that's awaiting pick-up by a major studio, distribution, or an award at Sundance. Poughkeepsie, NY, Fall 1999. A picture Dave took of the Lincoln Memorial in the evening, in summer. Dave thought it was a damn fine picture, if Dave does say so himself. Mary, Jenny's sister, showing off for gawking teenagers on Atlantic Beach, NC, July 1998. Jenny, her sister, and The King on his 1996 campaign for Secretary of the State of North Carolina (he lost). |
